I recieve error : DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx failed. Return code was: 0X800280 1c.

Didn’t work for me as I think my registry was corrupt. Everytime I tried to register the .ocx file it kept throwing up an error.

Here’s what I did. Removed Flash10 from Add-Remove Programs, removed all Macromedia related entries in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE).

Rebooted & re-installed Flash10.

All good!!!

Perfect. For some reason my Powerpoint had not automatically added the Flash Object.

I manually registered the object and everything is tickety boo!

In some of the cases you may also try:

regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9e.ocx

it worked out in my case
