Error : The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook
Solved by :
1 – First open the calendar.
2 – Click on file and select print.
3 – Under print select page setup and uncheck the option TASK PAD.
4 – Click OK and then print.

In outlook you can get rid of most “outlook interface has returned an unknown error” problem by deleting the exchange profile on the computer and then recreating it.
